New Kia Seltos to make Indian debut on 4 July

Kia India will unveil the new Kia Seltos on 4 July. The Seltos in its new guise will have a redesigned look and upgraded segment-leading functionality. That said, some dealerships across the country have already opened unofficial bookings for the Seltos facelift, while Kia could make the official bookings opening announcement date at the unveiling.

Kia entered the Indian market in August 2019 with the debut of the Seltos. 3.78 lakh Seltos are currently on Indian roads, accounting for 53 percent of Kia India's total domestic volume. In addition, the business has shipped almost 1.39 lakh Seltos to nearly 90 countries worldwide.

New Kia Seltos: Design and Interiors

The facelifted Kia Seltos will get a reworked fascia with a new grille, new LED DRLs that extend to the grille, a new skid plate, and a new bumper, as seen in the teaser photographs. The teaser also shows the new LED tail lights and an LED light bar that runs the length of the tailgate.

Spy images have revealed the SUV's reworked centre console for the first time. We can also confirm that the revised SUV will include dual-zone temperature control for the top variants rather than the standard single-zone device that is available currently. Kia has also replaced the temperature dial with buttons on each side of the display. The HVAC panel still has a temperature display, but it is smaller than the previous Seltos.

The facelifted Seltos is also rumoured to include two displays, one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the digital driver's display. A panoramic sunroof will replace the previous single-pane element on the Seltos facelift. Previous spy pictures show a square module positioned in the front bumper, implying that Kia would include an ADAS suite in the facelift.

New Kia Seltos: Engine and Transmission

Although the powertrain specs are unknown, we anticipate that the Seltos facelift will be powered by the same 1.5-litre NA petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine as the current model. The vehicle may also include a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which will effectively replace the 1.4-litre engine available with the mid-size SUV before its BS6 Phase 2 upgrade. This new engine is already available with the Kia Carens, Hyundai Verna, and Hyundai Alcazar.

Transmission options include a six-speed manual, iMT, CVT automatic, and torque-converter automatic.
